Taleghan is the name of a very nice area in Iran meaning "separators". The Taleghan in Iran is a cluster of several small villages in QAZVIN province on the west, and in the Alborz mountains in Tehran province on the north side. The area is famous for its mild, sunny summers and cold winters.
Shahrak is the central town of Taleghan. While not large, it has a petrol station, sports centres, schools and stores. Some of the villages in Taleghan include: Fashandak , Barikan , Avanak, Mohsenabad, Donbelid, Gatteh-deh, Gazinan, Gelinak, Geliard, Harandj, Hasanjoun, Joozan, Karkabood, Khosban, Koladj, Minavand, Segran, segran-chall, Sefech-khani, Hasiran, Sowhan, etc. Several famous people came from Taleghan; such as : the well-known Iranian revolutionary clergy Ayatolah seyed Mahmud Alaie Taleghani , Darvish khan (famous musician) , Darvish abdolmajid (khate shekaste creator) , jalale ale ahmad
